A car carrying Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto was on Tuesday night involved in an accident where it hit and killed a pedestrian along Mai Mahiu-Suswa road in Narok County.
Announcing the tragic incident on his Twitter account, Ruto divulged that his car was heading to Mai Mahiu when his driver tried to overtake a matatu that had stopped to drop a passenger. Unfortunately, as the passenger dashed to cross the road, the Governor’s vehicle ran him over.
“The man alighted from a matatu which was parked half on the road and dashed to cross the road in front of the matatu when we hit him.”
“My car and the matatu were headed towards Mai Mahiu. My driver was trying to overtake the parked matatu when the sad incident occurred,” The governor posted on Twitter.
